Background. I was born and raised smack dab in the middle of Connecticut. Yeah, I know. My vast interests include playing, writing and recording music, fishing, sailing, kayaking, hiking, motorcycling, photography, carpentry, driving until utterly lost, staring up into the inky night, museums, travelling, spending time with my family, and being involved with my church. Prior to my military career, I had aspirations to be a graphic designer and went to college to forward those opportunities. As luck would have it, I enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1997, with the promise of a job working with computers. I was a little surprised and disappointed to find that aircraft use computers too. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’ve met some amazing people along the way. I’ve always sought out new and unique opportunities to push myself; and have quite a diverse skill set to show for it, especially for someone from, ‘the line.’ I’ve progressed up from F-15 avionics maintenance to flightline manager and from to technical school instructor to schoolhouse supervisor. I’ve also sought out opportunities outside my career field acting as squadron financial manager and resource advisor, acquisitions requirements analyst, project manager, instructional systems design developer.

What I Bring. I don’t know if its because I’m a southpaw and my brain is wired backwards, or due to the diverse positions I’ve held, but I bring a unique perspective and an unquenching thirst to understand how & why people & things work. I love taking stuff apart, breaking it down and finding better ways to put it back together; be it people or processes. From troubleshooting aircraft avionics systems, teaching/mentoring classrooms full of Airmen, managing squadron’s finances and equipment, analyzing training requirements for new/emerging technology, managing personnel and programs, building software tools for process improvement, designing training curriculum, or briefing senior leaders to make critical decisions - I just love finding ways to make things better. But my greatest joy is helping to empower my co-workers and give them the tools and inspiration to continue personal and process improvement on their own - which then exponentially helps the organization to thrive. I have extensive experience coding in Visual Basic for Applications with Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. I have been learning Python, Java, C, Linux, PowerShell, Azure during my coursework through Microsoft Software & Systems Academy - Cyber Security.
