GPS OCX / AEP Training Systems Analysis

2014 & 2017 Peterson AFB, Colorado Provided critical training systems and procedural analysis for front end support to USAF Space Command. The Next Generation Operational Control System (OCX) is the future of the GPS control segment. The OCX will command all next-gen and legacy GPS satellites, all civil and military navigation signals, and provide improved cybersecurity and resilience for GPS operations. The Architecture Evolution Plan (AEP) provides improved operations and agility for satellite operations. Task: Analyzed 70K+ tasks to provide senior leadership actionable data to improve operations. Briefed stakeholders on areas of immediate concern. Result: Improved training procedures for ‘On Call’ operators, development of training tasks/objectives for Space System Trainer (SST), and alignment of tasks under the GPS AEP framework.

PNVC Training Systems Analysis

Jan 2018 Offutt AFB, Nebraska Provided support and analysis for highly specialized encrypted terrestrial and satellite communications logistics for the Presidential and National Voice Conferencing (PNVC) program. PNVC is a follow-on communications capability based on the Milstar Survivable Emergency Conferencing Network (SECN). PNVC is a System-of-Systems using Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Switches, Audio Conferencing Equipment (ACE), Multi-stream Summing Device III (MSD-III), Baseband Interface Group (BIG), Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals Very Important Person / Special Airlift Mission Protected SATCOM Communications Terminal (VPS), Secure Mobile Anti-Jam Reliable Tactical Terminals (SMART-T) with Baseband Kit (BBK), and the Advanced Extremely High Frequency satellite constellation. Task: Analyze PNVC Joint Operations, validate & align incongruous tasks from sister departments, services, and commands to determine a Master Task List and organize/plan related training objectives. Result: Ongoing analysis and training objective determination based on end-user requirements.

C-130 PSP Training Systems Analysis

March 2016 Cannon AFB, New Mexico The Precision Strike Package (PSP) is a modular and scalable kit developed for special operations C-130s in order to provide close air support, armed reconnaissance, and armed over-watch capability. The system includes precision guided munitions, medium-caliber gun, electro-optical/infrared sensors, special operations forces-specific communications equipment, and an integrated fire control and mission management system. Task: Collect and align all tasks to be performed on the PSP, assign tasks to duty positions, identify training requirements, identify appropriate training media, and assign training tasks to training devices. Result: Formulation of effective training outline for Special Operations aircraft maintenance personnel and the DoD acquisition of related training devices supporting AETC schoolhouses.

F-15QA Fighter Aircraft Foreign Sales Support

2017 Doha Qatar, Al-Udeid Air Base, Qatar, Sheppard AFB, TX, Randolph AFB, TX, Boeing, St. Louis, MO The Air Force of Qatar has been working with the US Air Force Security Assistance Training Office to develop an aircraft maintenance training program supporting the acquisition of F-15QA aircraft. Task: Act as SME to support development of sound training program and acquisition of training devices. Actions: Conducted interviews with training personnel at Sheppard AFB, to include Defense Language Institute, and tech school managers. Compared Royal Saudi Air Force training program to projected Qatar program to determine points of concern. Developed viable solutions and presented to stakeholders. Conducted field interviews with QAE personnel & Boeing Reps to ensure mission success. Task: Develop training simulation device to support F-15QA pilot and maintenance personnel training Action: Met with Boeing training development personnel and provided valuable insight based on real- world training experience and current training Result: F-15QA maintenance training equipment and devices on schedule for deployment to QAE

USAF T-X Trainer Aircraft

Sept 2016 Cazaux Air Base, France Nov 2017 Randolph AFB, TX & Eglin AFB, FL The US Air Force needs to retire the 50+ year old T-38 Talon Trainer with a fifth-generation aircraft configured with advanced avionics systems to better replicate their fighter aircraft brethren. Task: Identify training requirements at Pre Milestone-A as a ‘white jet’ with unknown abilities, configurations, and equipment Action: We identified several 5th gen aircraft we would use to develop our training analysis. We worked with the Singapore Air Force and members from Alenia Aermachhi to analyze tasks on the M-346 aircraft. We also analysed current USAF 5th gen training systems deployed to support F-22 maintenance training Result: Training System analysis provided Senior Leaders a baseline to develop training materials and developed training requirements for submission into the funding requests for the T-X aircraft

F-15 Automated Avionics Training Aids

2006-2009 Sheppard AFB, TX The Avionics schoolhouse provides fundamentals training for F-15, F-16, and A-10 avionics maintenance technicians for US and Foreign National Air Forces. Task: I identified students were having difficulty understanding and reading the displays on the Attitude Direction Indicator, Horizontal Situation Indicator and Radar System displays. Action: Using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visual Basic for Applications I developed fully functional maintenance training devices to be used in the classroom and show operation of aircraft displays. This makes it easier for the instructor to identify areas for additional study. It also provides greater depth of understand for ‘visual learning’ students . USAF training regulations state that for all new and emerging systems, an analysis must be completed to identify training requirements, recommend training processes, and training devices. Task: We use an Access database to analyze all tasks that can be performed on an identified system. I identified several areas that could be improved upon and areas that required significant operator injection to make it work properly. Action: I completely reworked the database, scripted Sql code and VBA solutions to automate and improve database operation. Outcome: Streamlined database has been rolled out and used on projects valued over $5 Billion
